Fireflies
Last week was a bash. My friends and I played badminton, then basketball and later on badminton, all on the same week. Never had we been so athletic. But I am glad to be able to put those degenerated muscles into a good workout after 6 weeks long of a rest period.
Let me present my recent interest- VOCALOID the voice synthesizer from Yamaha. This song is much more catchy when compared to Lady Gaga. So why not give it a try?

Two is Better Than One
Cameron Highland
As mentioned in the past posting, I stayed at Tanah Rata of Cameron Highland during a 2D2N trip there. Though some mishap happened to one of the company, we still did enjoy ourselves there. Did I mention of my addiction to alcohol? I had a serious case of car sickness and the only medication that was able to relieve my suffering was in fact an alcohol named Dimple. Although Dimple is no woman, but it also kept me warm during the cold night just like a vodka. And thus, I am now addicted to alcohol.
Ice Skating at Sunway Pyramid
Just a day before going to PD and a day after returning from Cameron Highland, I went ice-skating with an unlikely company that was assembled from the remnant of a failed 5C gathering at McDonald. At first, I wasn't into the idea. After all, a beginner like me sure to fall a few times as I try to figure out how to ice-skate. Indeed I fell and fell.. fell so many times. My ankles also bruised due to friction with the shoes.
In the end, I concluded that I paid RYM30 to get myself injured. RYM30 worth of experience that is.
Port Dickson (PD)
Before I could even recover from the injuries in my last outing, I have departed on a roadtrip to PD. Throughout this 3D2N trip, I had
- tasty, delicious crabs
- beach soccer
- mahjong
- go-cart
- eggs (Seremban-styled fried eggs and scrambled eggs)
- Maggi cup noodles
- fishing
- BBQ
- and more importantly, fun!
I kinda expected more from this trip, but entirely I am glad that I enjoyed the PD trip. The only regret was that I did not get to dip in the sea at all, not even once......
ComicFiesta '09

And this was taken today at the event. Practically us anime-enthusiasts had been planning this trip since the end of Daicon this July [link]. Being a volunteer at CF'08 [link], I was appointed to be the guide for this outing. In summary, CF'o9 had
- more cosplayers (moe...kawaii...totally awsm)
- more noise due to the awesome emcees
- more sponsors, particularly Wacom!! that meant promotion on drawing tablets! Now I am pondering on whether I should get one as soon as possible
- more expensive entrance fee (ouch!)
Guess our comic industry is not as shabby as I thought. By the way, I did contribute to the industry by purchasing comics for the larger comic publisher in Malaysia, Gempak Starz and got it autographed by its author, Keith!

Jumper
Firstly, I was kinda sorry for not going to Sunway theme park with the SAM clan. Hopefully I will get another opportunity to meet up with them.
Then few days ago, I decided to tag along and went up to Cameron Highland with my friends. It's in fact my first time going time. Sounds pathetic, I know. However, we did have tons of fun playing the game Twister (not Twisties the snack) that leave players in knots and ties.
I didn't manage to take any photos because my camera phone ran out of battery. Strangely, there's 3G connection on Cameron and my friends was able to access to Facebook. Bet she's addicted to it.
There will be a roadtrip to PD this Tuesday. Hopefully it will be a bash.

You Found Me
Practically things are still a standstill for me. The case on my apartment room has not been settled and I could not bring myself to break my promise with the "landlord" in order to move out. Things in Kajang are pretty much the same even with the return of those studying in Australia.
All I did to kill time was to read manga online. That is one activity that doesn't require me to fork out any money. Without a part-time job, I hardly have money to spend on entertainment. In reality, I am impressed by those who are capable of working and studying at the same time such as Santik. I couldn't find the time to do so. Probably the field of science is more difficult compared to arts and bussiness. So do teach me how to do so.

Sleeping Child
And due to boredom, I dug out something cute in the internet. Meet flele the music application. With no buttons, literally.
Well, it's quite difficult to use it if you could not read Japanese, but with a little luck, the trial and error method works as well. But first you have to download the software, which could be obtained at the following webpage [link]. Good thing that it even comes witb an elaborated tutorial. Just follow the instructions. It's in English lolx.
And to obtain the cute Gundam 00 Meistoid shell/skin, just click the picture which will lead you to deviantart.com. There will be a download button on the right side of the webpage.

Thriller
As for animations, I am going through 100+ episodes of God? Save Our King which I aim to finish as soon as possible. Honestly, the theme of homosexuality is extremely prevalent through the entire 3 seasons, though I had to comment that most scenes conveying such brotherly love look way more natural compared to many drama series and movies, particularly the reality TV series Beauty and the Geek.
Alright, I am going to treat myself for scoring A's in the last academic semester. All the hardwork paid off. Well, I though that I was about to blew up my chances with Biochemistry 1, but I guess it went well in the end.
But then, I wonder what should I get? Apparels? Movies?
Another issue comes around. My roommate is going to move to another lot for the next semester. Without someone to share the room with me, I just don't think I can afford the room rental of RM300, exclusive of utility bills.
Hope that I'll have a lucky break and find a roommate as fast as possible.

No Boundries
Don't scorn Adam Lambert. Instead, we should be pointing our fingers at the King of Pop and Elvis for being bad examples to this gay singer. After all, they started grabbing their crotches (why they even want to do that is still a mystery) and being sexy.
Sex does sell.
Still, the more I look at the image above, the more I feel repulsed. Enough about that topic.
So the idea of 4 guys going to KTV does sound gay under this is context of sexuality. But that's practically what I've done on Tuesday. At least it was fun. The randomly assembled company consisted of the Aussie Ed, the scholar Keith, driver CJS and last but not least, yours truly Alex-ander the Great.
As a result, I spent the money with was intended for the purpose of purchasing a new mobile phone. I wonder when I would be able to get a new handphone.

Waltz
8 weeks of semester break is not long when compared to the those from Monash University of approximately 5 months long. Well, I am not the one complaining about the arrangement of semester breaks. ;p
And thanks a million for the books, Siew Yin. I finally have some books on Environmental Science that I can read on, though I doubt that I can finish them before Christmas.
Oh yeah, my handphone is officially dead and not functioning. After offering its services for 2 years and 8 months, my buddy here is packed into its box once again, ready to be traded to the handphone dealer for a new one. So farewell~

Between the Lines
Well, I cannot deny the truth behind the paragraph above. Narrative writing was never the best aspect of my writing. In fact, I do believe that my blog posts had lost their objectiveness that I learnt through writing countless factual essays. But then again, this goes against my initial aim of writing this blog which is to improve my academic writing skills.
With nothing good to do, I resort to video gaming everyday, in hope that I would muster little inspiration to complete my pending art projects.
I am glad that I befriended many chatty friends. Phang, for instance, have lots of story to tell of whenever we meet up. Being an introvert like me, vocabulary and language expression are the main obstacle to satisfying conversations. In other word, I just couldn't find the exact words to express the thoughts that I had been holding on. As a result, I tend to take the role of the listener, regardless of how unpleasant it is.
I hate myself for being timid. But I hated myself even more for being so self-centered.

Dead!
Waking up at nine in the morning to the sound of my alarm clock was difficult, considering I hit the sack at 3am. My bed was not even confortable to begin with and my physical body complained of the pain from sleep each day.
Probably because that I am used to do whatsoever I pleased to do without restrictions. And now that I'm having my semester break, I thought that I could play video games to my heart content. However, my parents are not pleased to see my playing video games on all gaming platforms, which includes both the PC and also PS2.
Without any other forms of entertainment, I just do not know what can I do to kill time. Reading is not a viable option, considering how Moby Dick utterly destroyed my interest in reading with its classical style of language. Not unless you have the forth book of the Inheritance Cycle.
As a result, I am feeling totally lost and bored. If... if I have vehicle of my own, I would have gone to all the places I wanna go. Like that's gonna happen in the nearest future, not in another 5 years, I predict.
Enough of ranting about my problems. It's not like these problems can be solved without arguments with my parents. But still, I don't understand how I come to such unfavourable circumstances with my parents. Didn't they told me to study hard and play hard at the same time?
Adults are complex mammals. But the thoughts of youths are pretty much messed up too.
I wished that I do not bore my readers with my sadistic writing. Typing, to be exact.

Won't Go Home Without You
Argghh... it's Friday and I feel so restless without my Weekly Shonen Jump...
Wonder if I can sneak in Notthingham University and use its resources? I am dying to play squash or badminton or basketball... but there's no one to accompany me. Lonely as usual~
It is not that all bad. I borrowed some novels to read. A common and boring way to kill time.

Might transfer elsewhere, you know... sigh...

Happy Together
For one, me and my classmates had the worst of the week. Tests on Monday and Tuesday and and assignment due date on thursday. Studying for the biochemistry test took out all of our vitality, but all of us burned the whole year supply of midnight oil to complete the assignment. Stupid me for doing the assignment 3 times. Yea, I had to redo twice because:
- The 1st attempt was on nuclear membrane receptor. I was suppose to search for a plasma membrane receptor. Wasted 5 hrs of my time. Thanks to Yee Ling for pointing out my mistake or I would not have enough time to redo.
- The 2nd one I did was rejected when I handed in for inspection because it did not fulfill the HIGH EXPECTATIONS of the lecturer. Another 3 hrs of hardwork gone down the drain.
- Well the 3rd one was completed during a 2 hrs break. Then I quickly handed in and don't wanna bother about it anymore though I was not pleased with the quality of my own work.
What a horrible turn of events.
Biochemistry test was a total blow up. Don't even want to know the results. Can't study at all the night before because I had a serious case of diarrhoea, an ordeal that lasted 5 days since Saturday. And I don't even have the time to go to the doctors. By the time I went to the clinic yesterday, I was said to have cured. And strangely, I was told that I fared well in my Genetics test. Zzzz...
Well, the happy part was after finishing the assignment and tests. Hanged out and had steamboat dinner with a group of seniors. Learnt that they are all avid video gamers. I was asked to join them at cybercafes... I do not like to spend money that way... but I was more than willing to play video games together to kill the accumulated stress... So I got back to the keyboard and played DoTA and Left4Dead as usual...

I was also introduced to the sport Squash last week and instantly liked it. Well, for one it is a cheap sport to begin as the racket is less than RM20 and the ball can be reused, unlike badminton. ^^" But honestly, it is difficult to get friends to get into sports with me. Acquaintances who are enthusiastic are often expert in their field of sports and therefore there is hardly any place beside them for a newbie like me.
But eventually, I hope to find my place in INTI's society. Hopefully real soon, before my university life comes to an end.

The moment is crucial. There's test on Monday and Wednesday. But my mind is dead and my eyes are not buldging.
Crap!! I don't wanna retake the subjects...

Level Up!
Today we got back out biochemistry test paper. When compared to genetics test, this one is just bad. Couldn't comment much on it, nor can I blame the lecturer for being strict. I was overconfident and ended up making a terrible mistake.
Like JW, I am going to work out on the 20 common amino acids once again.
Oh yea, Midautumn Festival totally sucked due to an unfortunate event last weekend.

Helena
Though there was a difference in opinions, I was not spared from a series of undesirable customary procedures, such that my body was filled with the stench of soot and incense. The lengthy chanting process was both physically and mentally challenging such that I was able to hit the sack and sleep at anytime.
Strangely, no one was teary through the 3-day long mourning period. Guess everyone realized one truth of this material world, which is impermanence of substance but it remains as a theory since no one was kind enough to validify it through experiments. I, for one had observed sufficient evidence to accept this universal truth.
Everyone was glad that the deceased was released from all forms of suffering now that she is dead. However, how come a dead person can impart suffering to everyone else just by dying off? Is there a Law of Conservation for suffering, where suffering cannot be destroyed, but merely transferred to another being?
I was referring to the torturous chanting process.
Don't you think it was ridiculous to hire several nuns or monks for about RM1k to do chanting some sutras whatsoever which the words make no sense? Personally, I thought of them as choir leading singers and we the relatives were part of the choir group, singing a hymn with a history on its own. But hey, these religious figures were proactive enough to bring their own drum set and other musical instruments.
A writer once wrote in Chinese, "I won't be missing you 'coz I have never forgotten everything about you". Honestly, I think I would forget all memories about this relative of mine in the shortest period and not be missing her at all simply in the future because I was not even close to her and all memories of her were either bad or bitter.
We of Generation Y are living in a fast paced life, where time is count by seconds and not days. Therefore, I believe it is more important to love the living rather than mourning the dead. So I say farewell to my late grandmother.

Man in the Mirror
And that's one of the few factors that made me stayed up so late to complete my revision on Biochemistry for the test later in the morning. Do wish me luck.
I seriously could not distinguish between proteoglycan and glycoproteins.

Track 3
Well, I seems the statement above does not apply to me. Otherwise, why was I being abandoned and ignored when my friends asked me out to a birthday bash?
Don't ask me out if u planned to be cruel to me.
Seriously, I am confused. They are either tricking me and my genuine feelings, or they are just being ignorant and distracted by the flow of events. Either way, I am not satisfied. Maybe my existence does not stand out among the stars around me. Or perhaps I am just a side character to them, someone that could be easily substituted.
Anyway, I concluded that the truth is truly cruel. Guess I will spend the night licking my wounds.

Balik Kampung
Though I was blessed to be able to taste the delicious Malay delicacies as prepared by my neighbour Aunty Wati, but the sweet memories were short lived. As the older generation said, good times don't last long.
One of my many distant relative came visiting earlier today, and was trying to do something good for my grandmother by doing some chanting for her. The bad part was I have to take part in the process too. Spent 40 minutes doing something that I couldn't justify.

Hot
Imagine one of those flying insects was just place on its life end by vicious hit with a rolled-up newspaper. Before we could clear the mess left from the battle, another one entered the scene. We quickly picked up our weapon to defend our home. After trading several blows, the outcome of the battle was obvious. The defenders had won, but they were not left unscratched (it's true!).
Not only God hated me, Lady Luck also had not mercy for me and my fellow housemates.

God Must Hate Me
Scissors, Ear digger. Knife. Keys. Anything which we thought could slipped into the gap.
We wasted an hour to remove the door knob, but the door still won't budge. Kicking the door is not a viable option, not unless you have the financial capability to buy a replacement.
Then we learnt that the window grill could be open. So there WAS another exit out of the room. Thankfully we live at the ground floor of this apartment block and this apartment lot was the one nearest to the road outside.
Well, it was serious hard work to climb out of the room from the window. Try imagine the situation. It might be hilarious to bystanders, but personally you will not like the experience.
By luck, we managed to borrow a hammer by nightfall today and removed the remains of the door knob. At least the door can be open once again as I dreaded the need to exit through the window.
What luck.

Homeless
Imagine you're trapped in a class for 2 hours with no one else but your lecturer. The awkwardness was soon masked by the feeling of anxiety, with your mind thinking of escaping the room almost every time the lecturer looks at me. 5 seconds interval.
Thankfully Biochemistry class was better, with a total attendence of four. Hopefully more friends will be attending class later this week.
What a horrible first day of the semester...
Oh yea, I am living in an apartment with 5 other male. And now I feel that this place is unbearable after staying for one night.

Attic Archive
But then again, I saw a promotion on graphic tablets, not Wacom brand I am sorry to say. Well, this Taiwan-branded tablets is the best alternative to the expensive Wacom tablets, and other people are commenting that Genius is competing with Wacom in the same fashion as how AMD is rivalling Intel when it comes to computer processors.
After much consideration, and a little advice from a concerning friend, I've finally decided not to buy the tablet at the book fair, but rather save up my money to buy the more-expensive Wacom Intuos 3, sized 4'X6'or an A6 paper. Honestly, this one is triple the price of Genius-branded tablets, still I think it's more worthy to get this one instead, at least in the long run.
In the end I came back empty-handed. Hopefully friends at Limkokwing University and One Academy would inform me of graphic tablet offers. I dun mind if it is 2nd-hand goods, just as long as it is functioning.

A Moment Like This
I was angry that the event begun one hour late. The committees did arranged an tight schedule of events for the day to keep participants and visitors busy. However, me and my pal decided to leave MMU after half an hour to catch a movie instead. Here, I was reminded to support Burger King instead of McDonald! After all, Burger King wins hands down when it comes to taste. And G.I. Joe was quite a pushover. Yes, it was not worth the time and I definitely thinks District 9 had better storyline, though the latter had loads of disturbing images.
After that, I went to get a room at the nearby guesthouse. By luck I came to Shirah's Guest House and quickly got a place there for RM15 per night. Funny thing is the owner's name is Steven, not Shirah lolx. In this 3 storey guest house, I found out that I am the only Asian guest in the house, surrounded by 10 other Caucassian backpackers. It's a freaky, new experience for me and I loved every moment of it. Another thing I learnt is vodka and orange juice mix is truly tasty!
Dinner was in-the-house courtesy of the Malacca-bred C.R. He commented that I cannot be a Malaccan because I do not have the stamina and physical endurance to walk around the historical city. I assured him that I am able to do so the very next day. And so I begun walking the Heritage Trail after waking up at 5.30am.

Nyan Nyan Medley Service
A tribute to Digimon TV series which had been running for 10 years already. Happy 10th Anniversary! Never thought that the TV series had been this old and it felt like just a while ago that I was watching the 1st season of the TV series. Of course I have not brought myself to watch the newest season of the series, but I wouldn't mind doing so during my semester break.
Well, it's not that I will have nothing to do during the semester break. I planned to go to GACC, and I pray that the H1N1 outbreak will not interfere with my plans. And hopefully I get to eat Seremban's famous beef noodles before heading to Malacca.
But let me be reminded that I have my exams next week.
- Organization and Management (totally dislike this subject!)
- Molecular and Cell Biology 2
- Chemistry 2

A Quiet Investigation
Suddenly, I heard some noise. It sound like... someone snoring.
Well, there is this new student helper who really breathe heavily, so I thought he was short of breath again. But when I looked up, he was indeed sleeping while he was flipping through some student files... and no one in the office suspected him to pull such an act at all. In fact, no one noticed even though his snorring was quite loud, loud enough to wake the dead.
Bro, you totally owned. Wished that I could do that without ppl realizing. That way lecturers will not caught me sleeping in class anymore...
Seriously, I am going to blame my Upper Secondary Mathematics teacher, dear Ms. Eng, for developing the habit of sleeping in class, and as smoker always say, it is difficult to kick the habit. Too bad for me for not having any innate defense to her hypnotizing-yet-cute voice. That is the reason why females always able to make their way through the mind defense of males. It's in their genes.
Now I just fall asleep in class whenever I can. How true is this?

The Prince of Darkness
The story goes: A hardcore Malaysian fan stole and drank from the water bottle previously used by the singer Chihara Minori and even posted his photos in his blog. In fact, a few of them drank from the bottle, but so far he was the only one confessed to be responsible for the act.
<http://www.atalude.net/2009/07/13/daicon-the-minori-ty-report>
Friends and some supporters think that it was courageous.
Netizens and fans thinks that the act was sickening.
But one question. Wouldn't most fans do the same, particularly for the personal belongings of an idol? Assuming you got your hand on... the mug that this idol of yours used, u wouldn't have wash it, but rather keep in safe. Or worse, you might even use it?!
So what would be your verdict for the act carried out by this prince of darkness?
Last Impression
First Impressions:
1040-Entered the hall's reception area. Greeted by committee members who distributed handouts for the event. T_T When I saw the listing of the songs to be performed by Chihara Minori and kinda felt like I am going to miss the main attraction of this event (I certainly did regret about this in my last impressions of the event).
Well the T-shirt was not as attractive as those for CF'08, which again made me regretted for not purchasing them last year. The rest of the company was kinda new to this kind of event and was keen to checking the place out. So we quickly headed into the hall.
Count the number in this picture and multiply it by 4 times to approximate the sum.
This MMU hall is extremely spacious and INTI's Multipurpose Hall is only about half in comparison to that, not to mention there's even a second level of seatings for MMU's hall.
1130- Done seeing everything in the convention. Pretty small though. I heard that this is the 1st DaiCon event, so I guess I can understand. Pratically what was found at the convention can be summarized into several points:
- 7 doujin groups that sell their merchandises in small booths. I was expecting more doujin artists to turn up. But oh well, this is not ComicFiesta.
- KKnM booth that sells original merchandise. Crap, an original imported T-shirt actually cost RM114.90. Even though these are expensive, but the queue was unexpected long.
- There quite few cosplayers that turn up for the event. Probably because DaiCon date clashes with CosFest in Singapore.
- Activities such as Karaoke Competition, Cosplay Competition etc. was kinda lacking of good contestants. Probably the emcee did an unsatisfactory job of promoting them to the audience.
- There's a Macross gallery in substitute for Gundams and other Gunpla model kits. Kinda oof a new and fresh idea.
1250- Seeking for food. Well, we went pizza for lunch and then make one more tour about the convention before going back. It was in this second touring that I spotted more cosplayers and started to take more photos. I also purchased an A4-sized poster and got it signed by the doujin artist. Syok!
0210- We decided to leave the place, and the rest of the company obviously looked disappointed due to the poor attendence of cosplayers. Or maybe it's pretty girls they were looking for. I wouldn't know and I wouldn't want to know either. So off we went while we listen to some anime OSTs throughout the journey back home...
Damn lazy to upload anymore more of the photos coz each are sized 3Mb, so it took a very long time to upload them here.

Twilight
We left Kajang with high hopes, but most of us returned with slight dissapointment. Of course, that doesn't include me. I was pretty happy with the experience, only kinda regretted that I couldn't afford the tickets to the Chihara Minori concert.
Cyberjaya was like a ghost town. From the highway exit to the venue, the number of cars we saw on the 10km stretch of road was less than 5. Many corporate companies have their headquarters here, but we don't see any life in this city. Now I understand why MMU students always run to Seri Kembangan (the Mines). Lolz.
And finally, after much difficulties, we arrived at MMU. One funny part was we actually went around the roundabout near the security booth at the entrance because we couldn't find the way to the hall due to poor signage. In other words, we got lost within the campus itself. Almost all the netizens who went to the event agreed on this.
To complete this post later... going to play basketball...

Heal the World
Kinda sad... I still remember of a female white star who was a superb dancer, only to know later that the dancer is actually a male named Michael Jackson. In fact, I believed he was more beautiful than some females. Probably it had to do with all the plastic surguries he underwent.
I am happy that I am going to DaiCon this weekend. Once again, I wanna stress that I am not a geek. I don't want to be affliated to that social group in any negative way.

Listen to Your Friends
Well, I did follow my friends' advice to get a social life. Need a getaway anyway. So I ended up going to Midvalley where I ate sushi, watched movie and played arcade games with Edwin and his friend, Adam. It has been so long since I had a good laugh and I am happy that Edwin is back from Australia, at least for another 3 weeks.
I was dying to get out of the house since Friday night. I have been totally disturbed, frustrated, stressed, agitated, upheaved, whatever adjectives that best describes that feeling for the weekends and needed some social contact. Thankfully, Edwin was planning an movie outing for today and I quickly signed up. Never had such a great time since the outing with the SAM clan in February.
Now that I have recovered from emotional depression, I think I am ready to begin preparing for Thursday's test. 60 hours to go, but I guess that's more than enough time to study for it. The lecturer did tip us on the question that's coming up in the exam.

Bleeding Love
I want to stress that I am not a geek, though I am seriously infatuated by the story of Densha Otoko. And I don't really understand how I am related to bookworms or game addicts. I don't study most of the time! And I only play certain games only, such as the Final Fantasy series. I bet many people have played that at least once in their life time right?
Probably it's in my look. Well, if it is in my look, then I can blame my dad. Obviously it is in the genetics. Hahahaha...Wonder should I take this matter seriously?

Hate that I Love You
Situation 1: I was the first in the queue for the PTPTN panel evaluation on my application for a study loan. But still my position was highjacked even though I was no. 1 in the queue. I can't really tell what happened, but a group of five actually managed to undermine my effort of queueing.
Situation 2: I was lined up to get some freebies. We queued in one lane as we were told. But somehow when it was close to my turn, one (stupid) fellow actually shouted, "Hey, there's no more stock!" Almost instantaneously two new line of people appeared around my queue, flanking my mobility and put a halt to my queue's advancement. I shook my head to show my disapproval and luckily the queue was moving once again. Glad that they can see the writing on the wall that I was about to scold them...
Malaysians, love them, hate them...

Just a Little More
I cannot take this anymore. How could these people treat me like this? How could I not get mad? Each time we have a discussion, I would decide to bring my laptop along, only to have them to procastinate and postpone the discussion... How I wished to be with my SAM classmates once more... at least I could go to their room and smack them silly if they ever forgot about our appointments. But with my current group members... things tend to be hopeless. I wonder what would really motivate them to carry out their obligations.
Their actions are driving me crazy... Arrgghhh....
Though I feel like a backstabber already...

Attic Archive

The recent chapter of Bakuman released in Weekly Shonen Jump was so intense in emotion and exciting in the turn of events. Every page is filled with suspense. Waiting for each page to load on my web browser was like waiting for... an sms reply. You are anxious of the response you would receive, but nevertheless you contrained yourself to behave properly even though every muscle of your body is contracting involuntarily.
Do check it out: http://www.onemanga.com/Bakuman/42/

Recently I learnt about the significance of algae in the evolution of seedless and flowering plants. And finally, I have come to like eating these beautiful creatures (algae are not plants! Do take note).

The Reason
Even though the test for the subject consists of contents from the first 2 chapters, I failed to score and merely got a pass (50%) sharp. But I did put in tonnes of effort on the subject. So where did it all went wrong? The lecturer? The course structure? Or is it me?
I felt so hopeless on this subject. Just like how I felt about Chinese Literature which I took for SPM.
And there's also my horrible experiences with the KTM a.k.a. Malaysia's commuter services. Not only my Touch N' Go card was forfeited twice (about RM30), the frequent delay had cost me lots of precious time. Yesterday at Nilai station, only one track + platform was used for commuter services to both direction, which caused major delay to the commuter service. In the picture below, you can observed how commuters were waiting impatiently on one platform for commuter services to both Seremban and Rawang direction.
Well, time to let the past be goners... forget about that stupid subject and the horrible experiences with the commuter service. Need to revise for next week's tests, what I dubbed as the Double Bio Tests (Molecular and Cell Biology + Biology of Organisms). To note, I love biology and so far, biology reciprocated my love without delay or hesitation. Gonna love biology forever!
But do let me lick my wounds for the moment. Just one moment would suffice.

Viva la Vida
Well, let's face the fact. We can never go back to the past... and holding on to past relationships would be seriously difficult. It's not like I am ever gonna give them up, it's just that I regretted never to get more attached and intimate with all my classmates. I still remember that it took me whole months to get all their names right... talk about disgrace....
Either way, I have something new to report. In the past I used to teach students up to Form 2 level as part of my job as a tuition teacher. So why stop there? I am taking up the challenge to tutor a matriculation student! Woot... this is one huge step to my career goal, if you can guess (it's really obvious). Tutoring a SAM (google this if you dunno what is SAM) student in Mathematics Studies would be difficult as it is not my best subject and I have not touch mathematics for at least a month... Oh, I surely missed the old days when me and my SAM classmates would mash the HP 39gs' buttons like what I do with a PS controller trying to fisure out how to work a specific function. Now I better brush up my skills with it before my tutoring session.
Hasta la vista! Tonnes of work (assignments, lab reports) to do, but with little motivation, I would take my own sweet time...

The Easy Way
And when I thought that I got a nice room offer for an apartment near my university, turns out that the offer has its catch. Guess I am back to square one. Probably would continue travelling for this year, until I find a good room offer. Travelling daily to Nilai for classes is damn tiring.
Now that I am officially using my laptop, I am done customizing it. No overclocking, no games (sadly, I cannot access to Garena as usual) and no ADOBE PHOTOSHOP! Without that, I felt as though the laptop is merely an entertainment machine.
Have nothing to occupy my spare time currently, gonna waste them doddling as usual... the easy way to go...

Butterfly
Being the only male student helper there, I would be the first pick to be asked to carry out a running errand, a task which I definitely prefer over the job of filing records. The idea of sorting hundreds of A4-sized records by their matriculation number and then put them into the correct files which are arranged on the shelves of the compactors. After working for 3 weeks, I now dread the sight of paper files. Instead of seeing books flying around in my dreams, I am now seeing tonnes of useless information, such as names, addresses and contact number of students who I don't know. I blame it to my incapability to discard these useless info from my mind.
The people in this department really made sure I was occupied with some work at all times. Probably this is the way society treats newbies. And I was still holding to the idea of slacking off. Guess I gotto throw that away and just focus on getting my job done... Occasionally I would have to work during lunch breaks. I believe I was never this hardworking, except when I am seriously hooked to some RPGs. However, RPGs are video games and can be considered as a form of entertainment. My work as a student helper, on the other hand, is pure hardwork.
Take a look at this obscene act I photographed some time ago. Even monkeys can be homosexuals, I guess. I am suggesting that it is a habit inherited from primates' ancestral species. Well, this definitely explains why the same kind of behaviour occur among humans.

Battle in the Forest of the Fairies
No classes on Monday, but at the expense of one subject: Sociology. Well, that's a small price I have to pay. I desperately need that extra holiday with such a packed schedule installed for me this semester. I am going to have 3 2-hours lab sessions this semester, try beating that you guys!
Working as a student helper this semester would really help me to support myself. My job consists of filling tonnes of records, but once in a while I would be asked to do some running errands. Well, that's because I am the only male among all the student helpers at OAR. Just like how malesare a rare commodity in my classes this semester. Probably I should just save all of my salary. That would certainly one step closer to my dream of going abroad. But I personally think that a few hundred bucks cannot accumulate into 100k before I turn 25. XD
Meet my new arsenal of lecturers for this semester:
My Chemistry lecturer talks of lame jokes and even sprout out nonsense at times; Biology of Organism's lecturer is a philosopher; Organization & Management's lecturer is really straightforward in her words and I really like that feature of her, but this is a business subject after all and I bet I am going to get into trouble with her, eventually; my Molecular Biology lecturer is an outgoing person, but he also finds it fun to tease me (why me out of all the people?)
There's the annual Wesak procession this Friday at Sungai Chua, Kajang and I am dying to participate in the parade to get experience for the past few years. I was scheduled to have classes until 6pm. Luckily class was dismissed at 5pm and therefore I was able to make it to the procession. Being a first timer I wasn't sure what to do before the procession begins. However, I met a few ex-schoolmates and things became more fun. Or else it would look like another solo expedition for me.
The crowd gathering beside the streets was overwhelming. One of my friend was saying that it was comparable to Shanghai. True enough as I estimate there was about 5k people who came to witness the annual parade. The procession was definitely fast. Within 2 hours we were able to get back to Sungai Chua. I deemed that this walk was not enlighting at all. Kids and adults alike were running after the floral cars in order to be soaked with "blessed water" sprayed onto devotees by monks. Only the elderly can find peace among the disorder around them.

Not Falling Apart
To the workers all around the world, Happy Labour Day. I am saying thank you to all workers who have contributed to the economy and the market system. After having several working experiences, I totally understand why working adults would say that studying is better than working and agree with their statement. Of course this statement is not true if you found your dream job, eg. being a television programme host and getting paid to eat. And getting paid to talk crap for those who are super-talkative. XD
But I wonder can I celebrate Labour Day as the day my mum enter child labour for me? Oh mum, thank you for bringing me to this world. I am sorry that I don't have the courage to say these words to you, but I bet you would understand my situation. After all, I am YOUR SON. zz

How Far We've Come
I've just receive a new possession- a laptop! All I need now are complementary product such a a tablet (Wacom Intuos 4... wish I could have one), a new mouse and other gadgets... However, I have not yet lay a finger on it 'coz practically I have no clue on what I am suppose to do with it. Probably personalize it this weekend with all the beautiful icons I got from deviantart.

- reading up on economics
- photo-editting (see image below)

Thinking of taking illustration to another level with a Wacom tablet, but I still cannot afford one. I guess that gotto wait. Currently happy with my new possession... which I will discuss in the next posting. Haha... keeping my audience anticipated.
Anyone who wanna go have fun can call me out... I'm pretty free, but sadly out of cold hard cash.

Between The Lines
After that, 2 weeks semester break, yea~
But now, instead of cramming for the exams, I ended up doodling and sketching meaninglessly. Must have been the low internal assessment score I have for Maths that made me really depressed. I think I am going to apple-polish the lecturer tomorrow, hoping that I get to improve the score. Otherwise, I dun think a high distinction is possible. I seriously need to achieve better grade. It's not like I really bother about these numbers, but my true aim is actually... my one-way ticket to Australia (at least I planned for it to be one-way). Wish me luck. And to all other comrades in INTI-UC, good luck in your exams too.

Gives Me Hell
Semester break is just a fortnight away and I am really looking forward to it. I am wondering whether I should continue to be a student helper for INTI during May enrolment. I still don't have a job after looking for one all these while. The pay maybe low but I guess it is better to have income then just living off my parent's money. After all, I resolved that I would try hard to find a way to get transfer abroad and doing a part-time job is in fact one step closer to that goal of mine, financially in my opinion.
This week is like hell. I was totally occupied by the my Critical Thinking's (SSC) Project and Mathematics's Survey. My group members are not really committed into doing these projects and it made me wonder whether I was the only one concerned about it. They (not all of them) were always late for our meetings. The attendence was also poor. I'm not particularly enthusiastic about these projects, but I am determined to get better grades. That's the only way I am going to get my dream achieved, through that small opportunity provided by INTI-UNSW scholarship. If I have to sing a song in front of a class of 50 to get that scholarship ( I did kinda sing indirectly for one of the project together with other team members, nevertheless I am sure I would do it alone if I really have to, even though everyone would shut their ears upon listening to my horrible voice)
However, I guess I'm also half-assed about it. For example, I who was supposed to be studying for the semester finals, ended up flipping through the pages of picture books on illustration, photography and digital graphic designs. When I finally get a grip of myself, fatigue seemed to be deterring me from studying Biology. I can barely keep my eyes open after skimming through 10 pages of printed notes... Well, this is what you can expect from someone like me. XD
Do you wonder why I am so self-centered? Don't I have any friends worth mentioning here? I wanna do so... I will see what I can do in the next posting... I am not sure what image I can place here 'coz I have not been drawing recently. Yea, it's kinda sad.

Feels Like Tonight
Semester finals is just a fortnight away. I am far from prepared and I already have my hands full with the projects, presentations and lab reports. Where can I find the place and time to really study? I tried to got to New Era College's Library to study, but I ended up reading Understanding Comics throughout most of the time spent there. McDonald is another place I now use to go, a sanctuary for me to escape from my cranky grandma. Guess it is appropriate for me to now call it as McLibrary or McCafe?

Same Old Brand New You
But in reality I was somehow duped. Worried that I am not able to see clearly in class, I went to see the optician at night. The computer test gave a reading close to 200, which made me worried. The optician's trial and error method when she was trying different lenses on me after I've decided to make a pair gave a result of less than 100. If I knew that, I would not have make the glasses. There goes my money and my pride.
But I wonder, do I have a fetish for glasses? That totally sounds random.

Aria
Well, this is the happy family of SAM March intake after our final paper, Chemistry, if I am not mistaken. Many were missing out in the photo for only-God-knows reasons. So this is not a perfect family picture yet.
I still remember vividly how I chose to follow my brother in taking the SAM programme, the only difference is in the location of the education institute. Then, out of the blue, I was introduced to SAM's 50/50 marking system, where 50% of our score coming from our coursework. Immediately, I felt that this is the right programme for me because I have always hated the idea of public exams. In fact, I came down to this conclusion sometime during my torturous work after SPM. I was lost, not sure what step should I make after SPM at that moment.
One day, I took the commuter down to Nilai to visit the faculty. Satisfied, I went home to report to my parents. Then I came down to enrol during the same week, knowing fully that class commencing the very next week. I didn't really get a holiday break after SPM, but I was mentally prepared. So I bravely took the gamble.
For 8 whole months, I was experiencing the long-awaited college life, which was not as I expected it to be: it was stressful and difficult. But thanks to the support from SAM peers, I was somehow able to cope on. I was never hardworking or studious, and SAM's marking system allowed me to outperformed myself when compared to the rigid and boring system of the past's secondary education. At the end, I got a well-above-average score for my SAM programme, which allowed me to further study into my first degree without much complications.
The SAM clan, as what some of the SAM students called themselves, maybe divided in ambitions and desires, but somehow we SAM student were united in achieving one goal- to successfully complete this programme. I do treasure the moments we spent together, like how we used to play basketball or badminton in the evening, our usual dinner gatherings (our only salvation after a long day of classes) and of course, the scene of us cramming together for tomorrow's quiz or test at the common room. Those days were memorable and pleasant, like how I would describe my Form 3 life, which I cruised through these two periods with little worries and plenty of hardship.
So good luck to all of the 08' SAM clan members, 'coz you all would be needing it in order to continue walking down the path to your dreams and aspirations.
