“Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.”
Miriam Beard
Or so that's what this guy thinks travelling is about. Well, the experience do have a lifetime impact I have to admit, but there's more than that. After all, I did find my way back after getting lost in Malacca. lolx. Only at such time will you realize you're in a stranger's place.
So here I start with the report of my Malacca trip. This reminds me of my weekly lab reports. I originally plan was just to visit Seremban and Malacca. As mentioned I did wanna know how long can I survive outside there with a limited amount of cash. So in the end the trip became:
Nilai>Seremban>Malacca>Batu Pahat>Johor Bahru>Seremban>Home
Morning, Serembanians!
Anyway, I leave my room in Nilai about 6am in the morning and after a series of short trips on the local public transportation, I arrived at Malacca about 10.30am. Well, before I could explore the market opposite the bus terminal, my friend was here and we were off to GACC or should I say Games, Anime and Comics Convention. Well, he was interested to take a look too, so we went together in his car. Honestly, over the past 4 days I enjoyed tonnes of luxuries that most backpackers would not have.
I was angry that the event begun one hour late. The committees did arranged an tight schedule of events for the day to keep participants and visitors busy. However, me and my pal decided to leave MMU after half an hour to catch a movie instead. Here, I was reminded to support Burger King instead of McDonald! After all, Burger King wins hands down when it comes to taste. And G.I. Joe was quite a pushover. Yes, it was not worth the time and I definitely thinks District 9 had better storyline, though the latter had loads of disturbing images.
After that, I went to get a room at the nearby guesthouse. By luck I came to Shirah's Guest House and quickly got a place there for RM15 per night. Funny thing is the owner's name is Steven, not Shirah lolx. In this 3 storey guest house, I found out that I am the only Asian guest in the house, surrounded by 10 other Caucassian backpackers. It's a freaky, new experience for me and I loved every moment of it. Another thing I learnt is vodka and orange juice mix is truly tasty!

Dinner was in-the-house courtesy of the Malacca-bred C.R. He commented that I cannot be a Malaccan because I do not have the stamina and physical endurance to walk around the historical city. I assured him that I am able to do so the very next day. And so I begun walking the Heritage Trail after waking up at 5.30am.

ReplyDeleteSo did you get to try the seremban beef noodles?
And i agree about the G.I.Joe, although I haven't watch district 9. G.I. Joe storyline is so so, it feels kinda rushed in the interesting parts and I find that I couldn't concentrate much in the movie. I wonder if its the environment.
JW> yea, these events flourished due to diehard fans like me...hahahaha
ReplyDeletehopefulboyz> I only started walking at 6am...
EJ> yea... particularly the siege on the underwater fortress seemed very very rushed...
Yep yep!
