Pursuing My True Self

Oh yeah! I've finished the game before classes begun this year. In fact, I just start to do my second walkthrough for this game as soon as the semester begins. Degree course is way more relaxing as compared to my previous years of education.

The digits on the TV screen stated that I've spent a total of 115 hours playing this addictive game. Talk about a personal record. I bet I spent more time than that, considering my dearest PS2 has a processor similar to... Intel Celeron?! Gosh, when I recalled my friend's advice of spending our 24 hours wisely, I do feel ashamed of myself. So I've decided that I'm gonna spend my time honing my drawing skills instead. At least that's something beneficial that I can do, I think.

Persona 4 Aftermath: Personal Feelings

First of all, I wanna tell everyone how meaningful this game is. Well, the theme behind every RPG video game is always about good versus evil. However, what if that evil exist within yourself. Do you choice to ignore its existance, or will you try to defy your own ego? Tolerance is not a solution.

Well, the suggested solution is to accept the evil facade of yourself as part of you and bent it to your own will. Sounds unrealistic? Well, since we live in the information age of the 21st century, we never really go for any soul-searching trips (from Honey & Clover) or just spend time defining our individuality. Have you ever come upon a situation where you decide which persona you're going to put on to appease someone? I bet everyone did for countless time.

And the mass media is corrupted and distorted: they control the information and only show what the public wants to know, i.e. the mass media broadcast more and more data on celebrities, global news and rumours, what the public choose to know. Hence, the public delude themself in lies and falsery so that they can live a 'peaceful life' (kinda like The Matrix trilogy, where people's mind are trapped in a system known as The Matrix). After all, ignorance is a bliss.

So decide now, whether you want to live your live in ignorance or spend your lifetime searching for the truth (similar to the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism). I've chose the second idealism, which of course I fully know that much of my effort will be in vain. So which one would you prefer, my fellow readers?

*******************************************************

Okay, I've a confession to make. The 4 paragraphs above are my ambiguous feelings on life after playing the game twice. In reality, a better review can be found on Gamespot. I just don't really understand how come I got so emotional during Chinese New Year. I guess the atmosphere wasn't right. Imagine this: I read Eragon in my Grandma's place when I was surrounded by relatives and subdued to boredom. I was suppose to be playing Blackjack there, not reading some fantasy novel. Angpow is no longer meaningful. I wonder why.

When You're Looking Like That

A memory of last week's concert, saved as a digital image in Facebook.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, yet I can't really feel the festive atmosphere. I guess the population including myself is adversly affected by the economy depression to a level beyond my imagination.

Seriously, I really cannot comprehend the situation. Blame in all on my lack of knowledge in macroeconomics. Only now that I know that life is no longer what it used to be. Even the streets tend to more empty than usual; they are way more cars on road for last-minute shopping last year. Obama just got himself in deep trouble; if only he didn't rise up to ranks at these dangerous time, he would be more successful as Presiden. To simply put it, he was borned at the worng time.

A drawing by mandachan. Used without permission. Pirated by me. Lolz.

Due to further boredom, I drew a picture during mathematics class. Learned some tips on how to shade and tone from Justin. And yea, the figure in the drawing- she's my lecturer. She's a kind person but sometimes very blur-blur. Her inclination to make typo mistakes is something 'special about her'. I seriously hope that my good impression for her would not be tainted: somehow I am afraid that she would display ambiguity in her decisions like how my past MPW lecturer did.

After all, teachers, lecturers, mentors.... no matter how you name them, these people will be one of the greatest influence in your life, for the better or for worse... other than the Internet and also your friends (remember how we always blame our mistakes on peer pressure?). Luckily, I've met many great people in life, and I'm really happy with how they shape my life, or in other words, how they're part of my life. And of all those people, that include those who are reading my blogsite too.

A Place to Call Home

I was at home for a whole day. No classes on Friday. Haha... Pity others who have classes. But I have to admit that I've done nothing beneficial during the whole duration. Unless you're bored that you want to play video games and Sony is a brand you support.

On Saturday, something hilarious happened. It all begins about 4pm, when me and my classmates went down to Kelana Jaya to see a music concert which one of our friend was going to perform. We passed the Kajang's toll plaze about 4.50 and reached our destination about 5.15? I cannot comprehend how we were able to arrive so soon. Lolz. My hypothesis: 'P-licence' drivers are generally dangerous drivers.

One thing that I've learned from attending the concert was music truly is a universal language. The melodious tune of the electone and the grand piano have left a deep impression in my sealed mind. I was really happy to listen to a live version of Symphonic Poem 'Hope'. I guess the live version was a better total-experience than the pre-recorded one in my computer, huh. Then I've realized another thing. Who are the two background dancers on stage, they kinda looked like.... my classmates? Deng... only at that moment that I've learned there are a total of 3 people from our secondary school who further studied in music at the Yamaha Music Academy. The more the merrier? I kinda felt like a mini-version school reunion. Gotto grab the photo we took together from Jun Han or Edwin soon.

After the concert, the trio of company, in the presence of a new member, Jia Huang, went to Sakae Sushi in Sunway Pyramid for dinner after heavily recommended by you-know-who... But again, I admit that the food there is a standard higher that those of Sushi King. Yet, this meal made another hole in my close-to-empty wallet. Then we decided to spend some time at the game arcade before heading home. Here's the funny part, which I'll describe in my best effort:

Part One: Introductory

We went in the arcade arena. There are many machines, mostly new ones. I saw 2 Time Crisis 3 machines placed side-by-side, only one is occupied. The four of us went to observe the foreigner's gameplay. Then, I saw the 2p screen have the health indicator with two remaining lives. Spontaneously, I pick up the gun and stepped the peddle. I tried hitting the trigger on the toy gun. Nothing really happened. Then the screen turned red for a moment and the health indicator was reduced to one. Then I had this inner thought, "OMG!" And then I started playing... for free.

Part Two: Climax

A hilarious change in events.

After approximately 3 minutes of gameplay, l lost the remaining live and decided to give up playing. To our surprise, the foreigner took a token and put into my slot. He smiled at me and asked me to continue. Again, my mind went (O.o). So I ended up continue playing...playing...playing for 10 minutes? Each time it was supposed to game-over already, he looked at me then pointed to a stack of tokens on the machine. Reluctantly I put one token...then another..and another... In the end, when there was about 5 tokens stacking on the machine, I bowed at him and dragged my pals away from the area, from further embarassing myself.

Part Three: Aftermath

Before we left, Edwin and I tag-teamed for Time Crisis 2. Although I had a higher score at the beginning, eventually Edwin proof to be the better player as he outlasted me in time and also score. Gotto keep up my training in arcade-shooting game.

Before heading back, we went for a short walk. As I was half-way talking to Edwin, Jun Han nudged me and pointed at a person in a shaddy green jacket, walking alone towards the opposite direction. Then I'ver realized that he is the foreigner who funded my entertainment cost. I wanted to talk to him and thanked him, but we crossed path and in a split of a second, he was about ten meters away from our company. I cursed myself for not grabbing the opportunity to greet him earlier as I watched him disappear from my sight. He's a lone ranger in a sea of people, just like I've used to be. Silently, I wished great fortune would fall upon him for his generosity towards me who is a total stranger.

Thanks to JW for his effort. I'm honoured and also indebted to him for doing such a splendid job.

Never More

No, I don't want to be tagged. And I refused to comply to these demands. Haha... Furthermore, I don't really wanna read/type in Chinese characters. Wohohoho... But I can answer those questions in private if you want. I'm just not comfortable blabbering them out loud here.

Anyway, I had my 1st lab session this morning. I guess my experiment practical skills have gone rusty, just like my horrible driving skills. And I even have to wear a dress... a DRESS! It is mandatory for students of this Biotech programme to wear a lab coat. However, mine was larger and longer than my sister's pinafore dress. I even chose the smallest size available, yet I felt that it's larger than a cloak for it to be called a coat. I guess this has to be the wierdest transgender-cosplay in this first quarter of the year.

Again, I slept in class, this time it's Biotech class. The lecturer is still 'briefing' us on the course, yet her introductory classes come with more than 60 slides, each packed with huge chunk of information. Well, I really owed Justin for waking me up each time I... go fishing... (just think and imagine how I was trying to sleep).

Last but not least, I've read Kar Yen's post and I was suprised, stunned and speechless. Never thought that misunderstanding can occur. Well, I am gonna vomit blood. For those who don't know who she is, Kar Yen is actually my SAM classmate, currently taking Biotech in INTI too. I'm really glad that she is my friend because she's really friendly, but never would I thought that she actually brought such misunderstanding. No comment on the issue.

JW: This is an image I hope u can work on for me. Tq.

E=mc^2

an adaption of the anime Voice of a Distant Star. I did this as I was killing time before classes. You can just imagine how bored was I. That's why I say INTI is ^&*$%#@...

Time was never an obstacle for me to love you
coz' my love for you
that I tried so hard to hide
leaked out unconciously
in every action and word
as I spend my time with you;
A facade that I'm both proud and embarrass of

Space, the outer space
the measurable distance between us
divide us apart now
further than Mars is from Venus;
how I hunger for your touch more than ever!

Light years away from you
I send you my love
in the form of a birthday greeting
love expressed in the 26 alphabets
a message travels in the form of a transverse wave
across time and space
reaching its destination after 8 years and 7 time;
Why couldn't light travel faster?
The distance between us
now measured in the time traveled by photons

Will you still love me after all these time?
My thoughts of you are disguised as pulses of electromagnetism
travel in all directions to reach you
all the way form the end of the universe
from a place far, far away
possibly beyond the Sirius constellation, I suppose

Can you hear my voice?

First Time

It's the first day of class, and I thought I've experienced the worst: 4 hours of classes being cancelled without advanced notice. The 8am class was cancel, but luckily Yee Ling informed me when we met in the faculty office. However, for the 12pm class, I waited there in the computer lab for the arrvival of the lecturer for a duration of 30 minutes, which made me felt like some sort of idiot. The total free time I have today adds up to 7 hours in a row, with nothing to do in this empty town of Putra Nilai. Now I've grown more hatred for INTI.

Now I'm stuck in the campus with nothing to do. Maybe I should go to the cyber cafe.

Go the Distance

Sigh, I was my dream to study abroad, but it seems that this dream of mine has faced the biggest problem of the millennium: financial crisis. Well, my chances to go overseas are not at stake due to the coming financial crisis. In fact, it is the same problem that causes the financial crisis: lack of money. *sob* I cannot go the distance that I dream off.

Shesh, so now I'm stuck in Malaysia, and INTI is the only education institute who is generous enough to offer me a scholarship. Yea, I guess I gotto continue my education there, most probably a biotech degree. My course is kinda flexible, I get to swap with those Australian Degree Transfer Programme student and choose to do twinning, if I can afford to. Hence, there is the slightest hope for me to learn what I really want: the environment and the great wilderness. But don't get the wrong idea, it's not like I wanna work in a zoo. My mom had that same wrong idea.

So classes start tomorrow. And I've learned that some of my SAM classmates are going to continue there too. Hehe, I'm really anticipating to meet them after a month-long break. I do hope that my new classmates will be friendly and competitive. And I do hope that there are many females too. Eldwin once said that you most probably meet your spouse in university. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I swear that I'm not giving up bachelorhood that easily. Commitment is just too great of a responsibility and freedom is something that I really cherish.

Lolz, I've complete the game Persona 4 yesterday. It was a great game and I definitely encourage those who own a PS2 to get this game before allowing your PS2 to retire. Oh yea, I've just added the infectious and addictive song to the blog. It was a really cheeky Swedish song and was a big hit in Japan. I do hope that you all would like it too. Enjoy.

Caramel Dansen

First and foremost, I wanna say Happy New Year to everyone. Let's hope that 2009 will be a better year than its predecessors. Do beware of the economy recession though.

ComicFiesta 2008

I'm really sorry for not being able to update on the event earlier. Been very, very busy trying to finish Persona 4, which I believe is the last game I'm gonna play on my PS2 console. It's seriously addictive.

On to the event, it was a bash. People told me that Day 1 had more cosplayers, but Day 2 itself was really exciting for all. I'll let the photos do the talking. Most of these are stolen off people's blogs. My phone is just a terrible camera.

Cosplayers for the anime Macross Frontier. Cosplayers are just too common.

Me and Mr. Despair, though I'm sure I can play that role better than him if I want to.

Imagine how huge the crowd actually was. This was surprising.

These programme hosts are hilarious. I remember a joke regarding how the pair told a child that Santa doesn't exist in front of the parents. Just bold.

The doujins or the amateur artists, the main attraction of this exhibitions. In fact, ComicFiesta is a platform designated for them to display their talent

In the finale, the organizing committee go up stage and do the Caramel Dansen dance. Very funky. Many do not know how to dance, but just follow along. After all, ComicFiesta '08 was a huge success. Do I wanna help out again? No, coz' I'm gonna participate as an artist the next time, I'm sure.
