FireFlower

Today, I would like to blog about sexism, again, after reading the latest chapter of Hourou Musuko and some forum threads at mangafox.com.

Warning: The following text may give you a mindfuck, or not. Read at your own consequences.

ARPK

Sorry, but I felt the need to brainwash myself once in a while. It all begun with NyanCat, then McD Sabre Dance and now, this...

The is a sequel video to the original brainwashing video titled ARPK. It's about an Alpaca. They're a cousin to the camel and the supercutestthingintheworld

INTENTION

i used to agree to a saying
"money spent on food is, and will always be justified"
so when it about keeping my tummy and tongue satisfied
i would just blow my wallet without thinking much
i will just think twice, not thrice
heck, i even have a photo album titled "Glorious Food"

recently
due to a series of diarrhoea incident this week
i kind of changed my opinion
well, with all that food excreted out
without proper digestion
i felt that sll the awesome IKEA meatballs,
noodlez and delicious rendang
that I've eaten
became a total waste...

another factor that lead to this change in opinion
is my almost empty wallet
guess that I would have to prepare my own meals
if i really wanna cut down my living expenses
Perhaps having an automobile
is a financial burden that I should not have taken
when i have not even (officially) completed my degree

but still
being without GOOD company
in a stranger's land
my private time in my car
would have be the best time of my life
during this internship period
and without a car
i would not be able to make it to Animangaki!

FRAME OUT

while I was looking at an old photo of the destroyed World Trade Center building
which was circulated on the Web
concurrent with the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 incident,
I share the anguish
of those who lost a family member of friend
in that terrorist attack

while illustration remains as my main interest
I realized that I've been spending more and more time on photography
photography may not become a new hobby of mine
as I'm already have my hands full with Gunpla and cosplay
but as time goes, I find that having good photography skills
maybe important to my livelihood (a.k.a work)
for one, I'll often need to take photos of my microbial specimens
at times, photos are used as evidence
for observational records and for future references

however, i believe that
the main impact of having good photography skills
actually lies in one's personal relationship
with friends and family members
I remembered there was this occasion in the past
where I was shunned from taking photos for friends
coz' I just do not know how to compose portrait shots
or because i do not know how to operate a DSLR
now that I've slightly sharpen my photography skills
via trial and error
and also owned a better camera
I was even asked to help take photos
for my cousin's wedding ceremony this weekend
Having zero experience in taking good wedding photos
I am totally nervous
thinking "what if I screwed up?"
after all, it's not like time will backtrack
and I get a second chance to
capture those "special" moments into images

To be honest, I like to learn how to take good photos
only for the sake of my backpack trips in the future
as the motto of backpackers goes
"take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints"
taking (good) photos on a backpack trip is important
to remind you that you've been to
those wonderful places around the world

and also to immortalize those special moments in life

blue blue blue

Have I mentioned about my job scope
as an intern in a agronomy research company?
Well, I did learn a lot in the past few weeks
such as plant care and soil sampling techniques
and I am glad to be working here
But knowing what I actually did at work
might put you to think twice
about entering the field of biology
or more specifically - agronomy

So my weekly work routine include:
  • dig and carry soil (<-I dislike this the most)
  • carry bricks
  • autoclave rubber wood blocks
  • transplant seedlings into larger polythene bags
  • water seedlings
  • apply fertilizer and pesticide
  • subculture microbes
  • write research proposal
Today, I heard my supervisor commented
that one of the new research recorder candidates was 'too soft'
Well, I do understand that that job would be physically demanding
But I felt the same way about myself

Still, it's better to be hated for who I am
then to be loved for who I am not
Of course, I'll appreciate if people love me for who I really am
That's why I truly love my family and friends
