Ipoh Mari

Few weeks ago, I went to Ipoh (claimed by some of my friends as the city of beauties, falsified by me in my trip) with my parents to attend my cousin brother wedding dinner. Well, I realized that I have been real busy with my studies and activities. As a result, I was not spending much time with my family members. So when my dad asked me to go together with him and mum, I immediately said yes even though I knew I will be missing 2 days of lectures.

Well, lectures can wait. Family comes first :)

While waiting for the wedding dinner, I took macro shots to kill time. Mum said I am being disrespectful for playing with the joss-sticks and the altar. But I did not even touch it :(

The wedding dinner was held at the community hall in the village. Pffft... there was no one of my age that I can talk to. Most of the people who attended the wedding dinner are octogenerians. But unlike those wedding dinners held in the city, this one ended really soon due to...

...the community hall is situated next to the morning market. The smell of fish and other undesirable odours (it's easy to imagine it) made our dining session unpleasant. I thought most of the villagers would have got used to the odour already considering they always had event at that community hall. Alas, everyone left the venue as soon as possible.

Chopsticks readied and stomach emptied for...

Dimsum! What a luxurious breakfast! Thanks to my newly-wed cousin brother for the treat!

When I Get Home My Wife Always Pretend to be Dead

No, I do not have a wife. FYI, it is a title of a Vocaloid song.
Google it if you are interested to listen it.

Well, this blog post was written after I cried.
I have to say, this is the 2nd time I cried after watching an anime.
I'll put it in my Top 10 list on top of Honey & Clover.
the anime definitely appealed to me
maybe because i had more empathy for the characters
who fall out because of the death of a dear friend
however, similar to the series [C]
I also felt that there were many underlying themes
that could have been further elaborated.
Likewise, all characters could have more development
instead of a single explosion of
screams, tears and confessions
which made me felt that the ending episode was a little rush.
Do check it out
if you have a soft spot for romance frictions.
Strongly recommended by the self-acclaimed otaku, me.

Something which I wanted to buy for Bon Odori this year.
Second hand. RM90. Not sure about the quality though.
I've never been to that event
though I've asked my ex-classmates to go together few years back.
So when I heard some INTI students was organizing a trip to the said event,
I quickly signed up
In fact, I even persuaded some of my friends to join me :)

Cosplay is definitely an expensive hobby,
even more expensive than GunPla (Gundam models)
But I'm pretty sure the experience is worth the price I pay
Now that I am involved in INTI MAG Club,
I get to know many comrades with strong and interesting character
such as
A guy who builds his analytic way of thinking based on his love for Detective Conan and Ace Attorney
A girl who is stubborn about her choice of anime and taste for fashion
A guy who dares to cross-gender cosplay, who went to participate in Malaysia's World Cosplay Summit regardless of the difficulties faced
and his girlfriend who supported him all the way
Another girl who's proud to be a tomboy
These people definitely gained my respect because they did not give in to social norms
I do not have the courage to do the same
But I believed with these comrades, I definitely could make that change too!

Happy Synthesizer

I've asked myself a question in the past.
"Do I like females with long hair? Or do I only like having long hair?"
Hence, like any other scientists in the world,
I decided to carry out an experiment to find an answer.
The experiment also serves as a journey of self-discovery for myself
as I find myself wandering aimlessly ever since I started out my degree programme.
Well, yesterday was the end of the 10-month long experiment that begun in August 2010.
Did I find an answer?
Yes, I did. I like long hair.
And my best guess to the reason behind this answer
must have been due to my ordeal in my primary and secondary schools
To simply put it, I hated those education institutions
for the fact that they tried to instill dogmas and other unjustifiable regulations in me
I am indeed a rebellious kid.
The only commodity I have is my analytic mindset
the one thing that I would have to protect
even if it means going against the world and its norms
so be it
I just wanna live the way I want to be
I'll be happy to share my life with each and everyone of you
You definitely could do the same
so as long as you do not trample on my pride and principles.

Mr Music

Recently I've not been listening to any English song. Instead I've loaded my MP3 playlist with songs by Vocaloids. Maybe it's because of my latest job to write commentary of Vocaloid Weekly Ranking for vocaloidfan.com. Check these out:
Well, when asked of how I would rate myself for my work as the Vice President (Academic Affairs) of 15th INTIMA, I gave myself a 3/10 score. Coz' I've realized that I forgot my goals somewhere between the busy time of the past 2 semesters.

What happened? Had I fall prey to the excess workload from my studies and complaints from students? Or had I given up on fighting for what I believed to be right when no one truly appreciates my efforts? I could not tell.

In the past few weeks, I've filled up my schedule with so many student activities that I fell sick due to overexertion of my physical and mental health. At least this situation gave me the excuse to put down all my commitments for a while and take a good rest.

  • Youth Camp 6 by STACT Club was great. I was happy to be facilitators to secondary school teenagers who once again, reminded me how to enjoy life, one thing that I've forgotten as I grew out of the 20 years old
  • Children Camp 7 by LEO Omega Club was definitely an eye-opening experience. For one, if all kids were as naughty as the orphans who participated in this camp, I'm sure that the future of humans would be extremely bleak
  • Now looking forward to Maid vs Butler Cafe and Bon Odori trip with my newly acquainted comrades from Manga Anime Game Club
