Last night, I spent the night in my friend's hostel room. At 3AM, the situation was absolutely ugly at sight: TC slept soundly on the floor; I forced myself into a foetal position at one end of the bed so that I wouldn't be much of a bother to the host if he wants to sleep; our host, Tze Kai actually tried to spend the night lying on his desk, but failed miserably and couldn't get a proper rest in the end. Woke up slightly, only slightly less exhausted than 4 hours ago and then rushed to my morning 8AM Chemistry class. What a day!
Well, those ex-classmates from IMU actually drove down to INTI after class yesterday to have a mini-but-incomplete gathering. I strongly believe that such gathering would be more difficult to organize in the future as everyone is continuing their studies after our 8-months-long SAM (South Australian Matriculation) course. So I took the trouble to stay back after 8 hours of classes just to meet up with them. We should appreciate good friends when we get to know any. Well, this SAM clan are all of good personalities and attitudes, which I am proud to know each and everyone of them. But SAM 08' had over and we must walk forward.
Will everyone remember the canvas painted with all our colours?
Another news is that I have a field trip to attend this Friday, which me and my classmates would be going to Putrajaya for an exhibition on the field of Biotechnology. We even postponed all classes (1) on that day just to go on this field trip, so let's hope that it will be one fun and enriching trip for all of us. Too bad those of the DSCAU a.k.a. Australian Degree Transfer Program cannot participate. I also suppose to have an job interview later that evening. I do hope that everything goes according to plan so that I do not need to jeopradize this job interview.
My drawings may not be that nice, but I will make sure that I will improve over time. Yea, once I get my hands on a Tablet, you all will be in for a suprise. But now, it's back to my usual pencil and paper.

Afternoon Break
As promised, a fanart of Gundam 00. My favourite character, Lockon Stratos, the sniper who can shoot across the atmosphere and sadly killed in action. It's fiction after all. The background for this drawing is pirated somewhere from the internet. I've realized that with colouring, I can save the time cleaning the lineart. Wait a minute, didn't I spend more time colouring and editing the image digitally? My right arm is now sore and painful because of yesterday's badminton session and also today's use of the computer mouse to complete the artwork above. Not to mention is I rested on my arm as I fell asleep yesterday. I guess by elimination, the last reason best explains why my right arm really hurt right now.

Don't Matter

Naruto! I thought that if I do fan-arts, then I'll receive more comments this way. I guess I am gonna do one for Gundam 00 next. After all, these popular characters are more attractive than those of my own. Haha, funny for me to say something like that. Commisions, anyone?
Each time I was trying to do my assignments, I will eventually deviate my attention to something related to comics... then I will ended up sketching. This is the reason why I cannot have anything done after spending so much time at my workspace. The piling assignments and lab reports are really repulsive, wonder you will understand this feeling of mine...
To the topic of money, I realized that I've ran dry on cold hard cash. The replacement for my lost labcoat really took its toll on my wallet. But no fear! I guess I am gonna get a long duration part-time job really soon, all thanks to Grace for introducing it to me. At least I'll be better off a little with that extra income. Pray that I'll secure that job by next week.

Decent Days and Night
I am writing this post to let out my frustration that built up in me since last year. I am having a mathematics test tomorrow, which I am suppose to be studying right now. Yet, I am distracted by the Thousand-Years demonwitch at home- my grandma.
My grandma have been staying with me to form an extended family since... I was in Form 2, I think. Well, old people tends to be naggy, I can totally understand that statement. I experienced in for almost 5 whole years already. Believe me, she was more than naggy. She was cranky and pesky. At first I can still tolerate her attitude, but things changed just before I started SAM last year.
She suddenly got mentally retarded. Yes, her intellectual degraded sharply. The "Hakka" she speaks can only be understand by a few, including me. And because I understand her words, I become more agitated and frustrated with her actions that can make me literally "run up the wall". If I were to ever let loose my anger at the spur of the moment, I swear that I would have strangle her. But in one way I was glad that I didn't.
Today, she was shouting. Her tone makes you want to give her a slap. She often use that wailing-like tone, it makes you want to leave home. And for the same reason I always spend my time at the park near my house. She often pesker you whenever she sees you. This situation made me to hide upstairs or just not go home so early, just to reduce any contact with her. I sympathize her for her childhood past and the hardship she have endured during her adulthood. But making my family, friends and relatives suffer physically and mentally, I've no longer consider her to be part of the family. If she can still think and reason out her actions, then I'm sure she would regret them... how she put us into such miserable lives...
I maybe able to forgive her wrongdoings now, but I am sure to remember them too for the rest of my life. The only hope I have for her is that for once she would regain her conscience and no longer torture and hurting everyone...

Hate This Part Right Here
After being tagged twice with the same questionaire, I've decided to submit in and just answer them for the sake of... myself. After all, I want to change myself. I used to hate them, not to mention all those chain emails that account for unnecessary internet traffic.

Long Way
Have anyone of you received PTPTN loan? I tried to apply online, sadly that damn website just won't function for me. It worked for the others, but not for me. Why me... why... Something this technical I am gonna blame... the website engineers! They created a malfunctioning website that made me wasted tonnes of time in countless futile attempts to login.
It's a long way to go before the next semester, and here I am countdown to the long awaited semester break, even though I had a whole week of holiday for CNY. As mentioned in an earlier posting, CNY break was hardwork for me... visiting one place after another...
Almost everyone made a Valentine's Day posting, so I'm gonna follow suit. Well, early this morning, one of my crap-talk classmate mentioned that he've realized many of our classmates have already paired up. At first I don't really bother what he had said. But later when I was eating alone in the college's cafeteria, I saw a classmate with her boyfriend. At that moment, I also recalled what ex-classmate Sheau Tian said about current coupling among common friends. Sheesh... I don't wanna get involved in a relationship just to be in "the trend", however casual dating, as psychologists named them, ought to be more... meaningful, right?
Lee Ping would be a good example.

Dear
I left out a 9 marks question in yesterday's test. Realized that after reading yeeling's post. In fact, the question that she DREAMT in her dreamland, which indeed came out in the test, is the same question that I forgot of its existence. Now I'm gonna hide at one corner and lick my wounds.

Unchained Melody
Putting aside the past quiz and test, I am now working hard to get the gadgets that I wanted, including:
This is the only way I can achieve my dream to study abroad. I wanna see the world with my own eyes and not from the eyes of my friends as I'm doing at the moment. No more 3rd person view please.
I felt that my life is kinda lacking something... I don't think I'm living life to the fullest, yet. I will try to enrol for swimming lessons etc. I bet it will be handy in the future for the application of my dream job... In reality, I don't even know what I wanna do as an occupation after graduation. Guess time will tell.
- RX-Z motorbike (Santa Claus, give me one and I won't ask you for anything else in the next life. My driving is terrible, so 4 wheeled automobiles are useless unless they are very, very durable, such as a Bigfoot)
- Wacom tablet (okay, an unbranded one would do also)
- Laptop (can these machines be any cheaper?)
- Glasses (all the experiments involving microscopy and the poor lighting of my workspace really took its toll on my vision)

Crawling
Grrrrr..aahhh...
Are all women so ambiguous in words? You maybe telling me that I'm making a Hasty Generalization, but I was really irritated by the words of my Molecular & Cell Biology (MCB) lecturer. I'm started to believe that these females are sly and expertise in wordplay. Technically, it's not even a wordplay. It's a foul play. Come on, you asked me to state a reason, so I just gave you a concise reply. Yet you commented that I wasn't "answering the questions" (those are not the actual words, but I'm interpreting them this way). When did you say you want a detailed explanation on the mechanism of receptor-mediated endocytosis? Gosh... what am I suppose to do with her test? Should I make myself to exercise the old 'vomit everything a.k.a SPM' method? I thought I was done with that. I was wrong, I guess.
Can I strangle her?
Anyways, that was me getting emotional. Further posting soon, real soon.

Starless Wavelets
Bored of studying on genetics manipulation, I now resort myself to one form of entertainment: blogging. Today was a failure. Tried to mix around with the boys, but they disregard my invitation to finish up of lab report. I also tried to talk to this girl in my class but also... not yet get to know her. Sigh.... I'm kinda weak at public communication. Can hardly get acquainted to new friends. I always let my actions do the talking and thus, there was a lot of misunderstanding and complications. That's why I said that actions don't really speak louder than words. But I'm gonna try again tomorrow, if possible.
Tests are just about the corner, and I care little about reading the textbooks that I borrowed. Biology (1300++ pages) and Chemistry is way too thick, make me feel lazy even by looking at the coverpage. On the other hand, Biotech is filled with jargons that makes you appreciate the existence of Wikipedia. But then again, my broadband connection is terrible. I realized the transfer speed in INTI's computer lab is way faster than mine. And I wonder why leh...
Commission! I've not received any art commissions yet, but I've accepted the earnest request of Sis. Su Bang and Sis. Ong to type, type, type song lyrics for the Buddhist Centre. Reminds me of my job as a librarian years ago. Though this job doesn't comes with a reward, but the two teachers have given me lots of advice from personal experience. So I don't really mind... I'm lying?

Hero
Quoting something from today's The Star newspaper:
“...society can be superficial. But we can take a step back and start accepting this as a general behaviour (like how we pick up the best looking food in the supermarket) and do something about it — not just to be accepted by society, but to better ourselves and, in my case, have the last laugh!”. I'm not going to do the Harvard referencing for citation here. I had enough of all the formalities and rules of society. I'm going to plagiarize now and no one can stop me!
Basically, this girl confessed that if it weren't for the huge change she made, she would have trapped in an unhappy life like many of us. I intend to follow her footsteps to undergo a metamorphosis and I'm also placing her as one of the best example to follow in life.
Looking at other issues in hand, I wanna say that I've lost my labcoat. It cost a whopping RM50 for a piece. Now I'm thinking of a way to get a replacement. My first salary from my new part-time job would go to INTI again, I suppose, like how my paycheck last year was given to the driving school.
About my part time job, I really want to cry out foul play by the employer. IF IT WEREN'T FOR MY SISTER TO ASK ABOUT IT YESTERDAY AND TELL ME TODAY, I WOULDN'T KNOW THAT I WAS HIRED AND I NEED TO START WORKING IMMEDIATELY. To hell with that! For the same reason, more complications happened. I hated the management for putting me into this huge mess, which can hardly be described in a few sentences. I think I need at least 3 paragraphs, but I wanted to keep this post short, so I'm ending this issue here on a low tone.

The Genesis
I'm announcing that I am accepting art commissions!
Yes, I'll draw an A4-sized drawing of anything you want for a price: a meal! Yes, knightalex will provide such a service as long as you treat me a meal, a petty price to pay for my inexperience, low-class drawings! No toning, no colouring, just plain back and white lineart. Do send me a reference photo (a photo of yourself if u want a portrait). No time frame though.
Anyways, here's life lesson number 2: actions doesn't count!
Remember of the old saying 'It is the thoughts that matter'. I used to believe that it is the actions that really important. And the harsh reality implies that both idealogy applies only in perfectionism. The public wants to hear... yeah, they want to hear the words, regardless of the credibility of those words. Those pleasant white lies is what they want to hear. They want their needs to be satisfied. They So now I truly understand where I stand: isolated from the public a lone ranger along the Fool's journey. So in other words, I have to confess to... if I want get close to her? Heck no, such a move is too embarrassing to be conducted!
Now I've to decide whether to hold steadfast to my principles or just go along with the crowd once more? The longer I continue to drift aimlessly, the further apart I am from the crowd on the opposite shore. Should I swim across the water body between us and leave my past behind?
This is something I came up with a few post in the past. So now I'm quoting myself.
Awful reply: I am not photogenic. I don't like taking photos. The internet is malicious and digital abuse of my personal information is scaring the hell out of me from displaying photos online.
Pleasant reply: I'm always the one holding the camera, and don't expect me to give up my position without a proper fight.
Deng, my thoughts are disorganized with various issues. Will post more often in the future by the request of Eldwin. Will post more reader-friendly materials as suggested by CR. Will be more easy to be approached and less pessimistic as shown by Lew. But I don't think I'll comply to the earnest demands of Tian, Ee Jane and Melody to upload more photos. Will I deny their earnest request?
This day marks the birth of a new individual! Begone, the past Alex!

A Little Too Late
I've learned many precious lessons this week and I've treasure this knowledge. As the old sayings goes "It's difficult to be human". Don't you agree with me?
Lesson 1
Always try to please the public. This principle is somehow related to utilitarianism, yet in my point of view it can be a whole different issue altogether, particularly at this age level. A lesson I've learned during CNY celebration, a late lesson.
Well, I usually don't say no to any, I really meant ANY invitations to gather together and have fun (namely yamcha, movies, shopping etc.) And because of this, I always get myself in trouble, i.e. no time to do my own work. Well, below is my timetable for last week. Read on and decide whether my choice to go with the crowd is a positive move or the opposite.
Wednesday, 28/1
Get yourself a clique! Nothing beat the good old time with your diehard pals! At times, expressing your true feelings may not be a good thing. Gotto just keep those pessimistic thought to yourself and not spoil the festive atmosphere. Spent approximately 10 hours with my pals.
Thursday, 29/1
Went out from 12pm to 12am. Many of the friends that I've visited that day are those not-so-close friends, but I've realized that it's not that difficult to be friendly to these acquaintances of mine. With a little more effort in communication and taadaa... better public relations! Though I believed my introvert self is the main factor driving people away from me.
Friday, 30/1
Hey, my ex-Chinese teacher still remember me after all these years, 2 years to be exact. Due to the lack of transportation means. I've decided to use my reliable o' pair of legs to get to the designated gathering spot before getting a lift from Yuan Wei to Cheras Mahkota. To note, it was noon and the sun was hanging high. I must have stink like a buffalo. Later that night, we went to Siew Yin's place... until 6am! One point that I really wanna say but I've kept to myself: Siew Yin, did u drink and drive? I was glad that u kept your conciousness and sanity all the while even after all the red wine you have drank.
Saturday, 31/1
I believed this is the craziest day of my life. Imagine of visiting 12 places in a streak just for the angpow! Well, I'm sure MY intention wasn't so, but I can't speak for the crowd. More than half of the 'friends' that I've visited that day was nothing more than nodding acquaintance. Part 2 of Lesson 2 was learnt today. But what really shocked me was... 'she' was there. After all these time, I'm really happy to see her. I was really embarassed because I was sleeping when she and her clique came (not to my house of course).
Yea, I was sleeping. After all, after returning home at 6am and waking up at 9am to meet up with the rest, how can you expect me to hold back my fatigue without any rest. But my strenght and stamina recovered immediately after seeing 'her'. Now that I've learn about 'her' wherabouts, should I mustering all my courage and try...? That evening we had a sumptuous Steamboat dinner, follow with visitng a few more houses before calling it a day (12am and u call it a DAY?).

Happy birthday, bro! It's good that it falls on Federal Territory Day; you get an extra day off! After another delicious lunch with family, I went to my friend's place then headed to my cutesy ex-Mathematics teacher house. She is a dedicated lecturer. Many of our classmates USED TO occupy her during her classes. Yes, we indeed occupy her time and bombarded her with math problems in sequence, one after another. After visitng two more friends, I said goodbye and walked home. If I've not done so, I'm sure I'll be dead the very nest day: two lab reports and one assignment to hand in the very next day, which I've not yet finished any of them yet.
Conclusion: This year's CNY have really brought me many valuble lessons and also suprises. I'll continue on Lesson 2 next time.
