My Favourite Accident

what's ahead in the future is shrouded in darkness and uncertainty
nevertheless, we shall gather our brave hearts to venture into the uncharted territory

It's been at least half a year since I realized that I was in a huge dilemma
this dilemma is common among fresh graduates
i fully understand that once i purchased a new car
i'll inevitably fall into a deep pitfall which can be summarized by this saying:

"买车驾去上班,上班赚钱供车"
(buy car to go to work, go to work to pay for car loan)

after analyzing this matter for a long time
i've come to a conclusion that
to get out of this pitfall, there are 3 strategies:

1 - make more money so that the car loan (debt) can be settled quickly
2 - change job to one that does not require me to travel long-distance
3 - buy cheap second-hand car that I can use for off-road driving

the 1st strategy is not achievable in a short term
so I'm dropping that off from my consideration
the 2nd strategy is, in fact, my last resort
coz' I liked to work in this oil palm plantation industry
so I do not hope to change job
and I believe that the 3rd strategy
would only bring me more problems and headaches
knowing that many second-hand cars tend to have frequent breakdowns
and I don't want such problems to haunt and hamper me in the future

after all that reasoning above
it seems that I could not escape this pitfall anymore
oh well, guess I will be shackled to debts
like many other fresh graduates in the country
just because I need to get a car to go to work

to me, to have that sense of freedom being taken away
is the biggest sacrifice that I'll be making for the sake of my job
though I'm pretty sure my employers won't appreciate it
but being a stallion at heart
who needs to roam wild and free in the open
this is the ultimate compromise
for the sake of a better livelihood
let's hope that I won't regret the choice that I make
on this fated day of 21st October, 2012
