Nem - Gliesse

Well, I was suppose to post this in vocaloidfan.com
But ever since that website was put down,
I haven't publish anything related to Vocaloid
as such, I am posting an album review in this blog for the moment

Nem - Gliesse

First, let's wiki attack!

Nem is a rather talented Vocaloid music producer. Based on the songs on his mylist (http://www.nicovideo.jp/mylist/11859415), he published his first Vocaloid song in the year 2009.
Hence, it's been almost 3 years since he got involved in Vocaloid music.
On behalf of the Vocaloid fans all around the world, I would like to thank Nem for bring joy to us all.

One of Nem's more popular song arguably - Scissorhands feat. Hatsune Miku

Nem's songs are not your regular pop/rock songs.
While most of his songs have a upbeat tempo similar to those of the common rock band songs,
these songs often have a rather heavy and dark feel to them.
Furthermore, Nem is also an awesome utaite (singer)
You can check out some of his covers on NND here (link).

Now, back to the album review.
This is Nem's second album, Gliesse which launched at the end of 2011.
Practically this album featured the many facets of Nem's music style.

  2. LOVE DEATH /
  4. Oasis No.404 / GUMI
  5. virgin suicides /
  7. a song flying to you / GUMI
  8. Somatic Delusion / GUMI×
  9. Stoic Party /

Well, it's difficult to describe how awesome the entire album is, so I will be focusing on 3 songs.

嗚呼、素晴らしきニャン生, also known as Nyan, It's a Wonderful Cat Life is cheerful, upbeat and cute song.
Cute is the most appropriate word I could think of to best describe this song.
It's lyrics actually take on the perspective of a house cat (voiced by Gumi)
and a street cat (voiced by Len)
There's not much chemistry between the two Vocaloids
so I do not call it a true duet
but the awesome plot remained.

星を渡る鳥 or Bird Across a Star, is a slow-tempo song that build on some melancholy.
Vocaloid fans would be surprised to find a fine-tuned Len vocal singing this.
Nem also offered a similarly-styled Len-solo song in this album -
I have to admit, I am a sucker when it comes to Len solo pieces
such as FireFlower by halyosy
But nevertheless, I believe that this album is worth every single penny (価格:¥1,000 )
coz' there aren't that many music producer as talented as Nem

P/S: My most favourite Vocaloid song by Nem has to be Goodbye, Alice
