Chase This Light

You Were One of the Emo / Goth Kids

When you were in high school, you were still figuring out what you were all about.

You underwent an intense period of self exploration, and you learned a lot about yourself.

You may have felt like a bit of an oddball, but luckily you had friends who were in the same boat as you were.

You probably aren't very goth or emo these days. However, you still are likely to see things from an alternative point of view.

Next to You

Yesterday, I witnessed the graduation ceremony for 7 of my INTI seniors. I'm so happy for them. Even though I did not get to know them sooner, but I definitely glad to be classmates with them.

You might wonder why one batch of graduates only consisted of 7 people. Well, here in INTI-IU, science students like myself is the minority (approximately 5% of the totally student population).

So in case if you think the situation could be worse, you are definitely right! If things run as it is planned, I would only be graduating together with 1 other classmate, making a total of 2 INTI Biotech graduates next year end.

Only the 2 of us!? How sad can my future graduation ceremony gets?

Blackout

Bill Clinton visitation to INTI-IU definitely brought so much trouble to the students. Not only did INTI management locked down the student center building, but they also closed down the cafeteria, citing security reasons as the excuse. The linkway to the academic block was also closed for the same purpose.

In the end students without umbrella could not make it to their 8am classes due to the morning rain on Friday. Students also could not have lunch at the cafeteria for that day. And being part of INTIMA, I am stuck with two opposing roles: my commitment to serve the student community and my position as part of the INTI management.

So what are the options left to me? Do I just ignore this situation and hide from my own conscience?

No... it's better to take the initiative and lodge a complaint before the rage of 5k students fall on INTI management and INTIMA.

Chain Intervention

I have this whiteboard in my apartment.

Everyday when I sit down in front of my laptop, the writings on this whiteboard would remind me of the work that I have to finish and hand in.

Everyday it will list all the coursework that I have yet to complete.

Life as guided by this whiteboard seem dull... until my clever housemates added DoTA to the list.

......deng

Now I have removed DoTA from my computer or else I would not be able to get any work done this weekend. And also for the following week.

DoTA is addictive. And harmful. Do try to stay away from it.

Lean on Me

There will be a blood donation drive this week at INTI-IU. This time I hope that I can successfully donate blood. I failed miserably in my previous attempts to donate blood. My blood will stop flowing halfway to one full pack. Guess I either have low blood pressure or my blood just agglutinates too fast.

Oh yea, I remembered that I nearly fainted the last time I attempted to donate blood. Wonder will the same thing happen again this week?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The only member of Glee cast who I can recall was the nerdie guy who was on the wheelchair. After all, I've never watched an episode of Glee, but I really like the complete OST from Glee Season 1.

100 awesome songs sung by the Glee cast, now can be found in the hard disk of my dear laptop.

This weekend I finally had time to use my Wacom tablet and my colour pencils. Time flies and it's the end of the month already. After not drawing anything for a long while, I definitely felt I could not draw as well as in the past. After all, I recalled that I always doodle in class or in lecture. The time spent doodling was in fact one of my happiest time in my life.

Just Be Friends

"What the the 3 nevers in life?"

My group members discussed and argued heatedly on the answers to this question.

Strangely, one of the answer I got was "never conform".

How I wish that is practical.

But life demanded the opposite from me.

Conformity seemed to be necessary to survive in this competitive and collective society.

Can I not conform?

****************************************************************************************

On the bright side, I had the fullest life in INTI this semester.

Never had I been so into student activities or sports.

And I have to say that I'm glad that I grab the opportunity that was offered to me.

Now I'm living life like I never did.

F.U.N

Calling out to all SCANDAL and Paramore fans!!! Both bands are coming down to South East Asia! Can this get any better?

Paramore will be performing at Bukit Jalil on the 19th of October, Tuesday.

Paramore! Paramore! Paramore!

On the other hand, SCANDAL will be performing on the 14th of November at Singapore during AFAX (Anime Festival Asia) with many other Jap pop artists. Tickets are selling from $55 (Singapore dollars of course). But can I even afford them?

I wonder if students at INTI Nilai are feeling the pinch from the constant changes that are happening? From what that I can see, the employment of student-centered learning equals to more coursework and assessments, particularly for final-year courses.

By the way, have I mentioned that final-year courses here are not easy at all? Now I spend all my (previously) free time reading journals and revising lecture notes.

No time for sports. No money for outing. No time and money for girls.

After overcoming last week's storm, now it's time to embrace a whole new week of problems and homework! But I know what can cheer me up: tickets to the concerts!

Or I can just continue to dream on. At least it does not cost anything to dream~
