Down

Been to IDP Education Fair at PWTC earlier in the morning. Made me wanna go study abroad even more...more...

T_T

Furthermore, I've seen the Nike football shirt for this year's World Cup season. I may not be fan of football, but I'm now a support of Nike.

The reason is simple: the new products of Nike are made of recycled plastic. Every 8 plastic bottles recycled can generate material to make one football shirt. As a self-proclaimed environmentalist, I urge everyone to embrace this new technology.

Can I have this as a birthday gift please, friends?

Starstrukk

Chinese New Year officially ended last year. And to think that someone blasted loads of fireworks and firecrackers right outside of my apartment block in Nilai to celebrate Chap Goh Mei.

I would like to thank my coursemate Raja (his nickname of course) for the delicious BBQ chicken that he prepared for all of us to eat. Initially we intended to head down to PD beach for BBQ. However, due to transportation problems, we resorted to a BBQ at the apartment in Nilai. It might sound sad that our plans turned out this way, but I think that an opportunity closed is where another opportunity would arise.

Remembered how I dreaded of going karaoke in the past? Well, I went with some coursemates right after the BBQ session on Friday and I have to admit that I truly enjoyed myself out there and I am also sure that all of us did. At least there were more selection of English songs here in Nilai. ^^

But then the act of sacrificing our sleep time to have fun ought to have its share of consequences... another sleep deprived day and hole in our wallets. Something for me to laugh about in my dreams for the nights to come.

So long for now... sweet dreams everyone... and please support our Genetics blog.

The Show

18 hours since I last slept.

Another 3 hours to be spent on doing a long procastinated assignment before I can hit the sack.

Physically tired I may be, but I was determined to finish up my coursework before the final due date this weekend. Regret for not finishing my work earlier. Somewhat a last-minute work but I finally completed this coursework. The truth is this work was pretty much an unsatisfactory piece of work.

However I am humbly requesting for your time to review this article of our group of three. Do post comments in support of our work.

Use Somebody

Happy Tiger Year, everyone! This is a greeting CR was trying to promote. Made me think of Tiger Woods and his collection of girls.

For one, Day 1 of this CNY will be spent counting the amount of calories I am going to consume. Given that no one will be visiting on Day 1, I would spend my time eating... and eating excessively.

I could really use somebody to talk to on this Chinese New Year.

To note, there are many delicacies limited only to this festive season such as dried meat, my favourite pineapple cookies, roast duck, pork stew with sea cucumber and many more, all of which are extremely unhealthy food, except for the sea cucumber, which doesn't have much nutrients in the 1st place, not even fat.

Wishing Happy Valentine Day to everyone on Earth, particularly acquintances who are now in foreign countries to pursue their tertiary education.

Shoot to Thrill

Anticipating CNY celebration everyday...

Today I met Jocelyn, a year-one graduate from DSCAU who came to get some documentation doen. She had made her choice to study in Melbourne University, but she was offered a UNSW scholarship few weeks before departuring to Down Under. So lucky of her.

From her, I learnt how to earn my chance to study abroad. Hehe... gonna try my luck the next time UNSW representatives come here.

Let me introduce some awesome rock music. Band name AC/DC. I'm not sure whether this is the soundtrack for the coming sequel of the movie Ironman, but the music is nice. Not entirely pop songs, but a change to rock is definitely refreshing.

If you want the link, you can ask it from me. ^^

Don't Be Long

Juzt when I thought this semester couldn't get any worse...

My hair got burnt by the Bunsen burner during Microbiology lab today.

Lesson of the day: Get my hair cut. No more procastination.

T_T the hair that I tried to keep.... now it's gone like the wind. So in the end, my will to keep long hair was bent not by humans but rather by my own silly mistake.

I am, however thankful that not all of my hair was burnt off.

To note, this event did gave me a temporary boost of attention and energy, things that I really required during the lab session due to serious deprivation of sleep. Or else a more serious accident might have occurred.

Biochemistry 2 is probably comparable to law subjects when discussing about the amount of information we biochem students need to MEMORIZE.

  • enzyme name (eg. 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide ribonucleotide transformylase)
  • all products, substrate and probably by-products for 10-step pathways
  • inhibitors and activators (all your hormones and drugs go into this category)

Please give me all the mental and moral support to survive this semester. And I pray no more mishap for this week.

Sourpuss

I finally understood why cooking is also known as home science. Not knowing how to cook, I've used the trial and error methodology to prepare food. Possibly edible food.

Yea, it's a huge risk I was about to take to eat the food that I myself had prepared.

At least the steamboat dinner I had with my classmates was a success. And each trial of preparing food would ensure the next meal a better success.
